About Us

While watching our friends frantically preparing for the arrival of their first babies we felt a bit useless. We couldn't offer advice on what to expect, and we didn't have any no-longer-needed strollers or playpens to pass on.

So we thought we'd help them find all the gear they were going to need. After all you don't need parenting experience to know how to shop. Apparently though you do need an awful lot of time and a bottomless pit of cash.

While my partner tried to work out how many pay rises he'd need to kit out our home for our first child, I decided to find all the essential, and not-so-essential-but-too-cute-to-resist items, and put them in one place, for less.

So now, based on our friend's shopping lists, we have Cotton Lily. As more lists arrive the site will grow, and hopefully before too long we'll be adding our own list, for our own time-stealing, wallet-draining, bundle of joy.
